PM2.5 and Cardiovascular Diseases in the Elderly: An Overview

(International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health) The elderly are a susceptible population to cardiovascular injury by PM2.5 and a few epidemiological studies showed more risk of cardiovascular disease increased in the elderly exposed to the same levels of PM2.5. The relationship between PM2.5 concentration and CVD risk appears not to have a “safe” threshold.
