(Environmental Science and Pollution Research International) This study reviewed research to see if there is a connection between exposure to nitrogen dioxide (NO2) during pregnancy and negative effects on a child's development. The researchers looked at studies published until May 2019 and found 10 that were relevant. They found that an increase in NO2 exposure during pregnancy was linked to a decrease in fine psychomotor skills and overall psychomotor skills in children. The study suggests that prenatal exposure to NO2 may have a negative impact on children's development, but more research is needed to fully understand the effects.
